IMPORTANT NOTE ON FINAL EXAM SUBMISSION

Wed 06May2020 6:11PM

IMPORTANT NOTE ON FINAL EXAM SUBMISSION

Because it is an timed exam, you only have 1 try to submit your PDF. Blackboard will not allow a re-submission.

So be certain that your PDF is correct, and all pages are included and in order, BEFORE you submit.

PDF’s may not exceed 10MB in size, but they do not need to be in full HD color, so black and white is fine.

Final exam (chapter 9 - 19)

Sun 26Apr2020 6:16PM

The final exam will be open-book and will be available on blackboard in the form of PDF which will be available when you start the exam.
Exams will become available from 05/07/20 at 12:00am EDT till 11:59pm EDT 05/07/20

You can start the exam anytime during this 24 hours period but you will have 120 minutes to finish the exam and have an extra 30 minutes to upload the answers to Blackboard (see the details below).

A timer will start when you open the exam link and you will then see the link to the Exam PDF.

You can see the timer throughout that period.

Note that You CANNOT upload answers after the timer expires, i.e. after 150 minutes.
The DRC students will get their time accommodation.

To complete the exam process:
1) Clearly write your FULL NAME on a blank piece of paper (Example: John Purdue)
2) Click the link in the "final exam" session on Blackboard to start timer and receive your link to the exam PDF.
The exam (PDF file) will open in a new tab.
3) Write your Exam Code clearly on your paper. (Example: Code 00)
4) Number your paper from 1 - 30. After each number, clearly write the letter for your answer to that problem (Example: 1. A )
5) Create a PDF of your completed answer sheet and attach it here by clicking on the "Browse My Computer" button and pointing to your PDF.
6) Click Save and Submit - Your exam process is complete.

PRACTICING THE EXAM PROCESS

A test exam can be accessed at Blackboard, also in the Final Exam folder. Please finish test exam process and let me know if there are any issues or questions.

class plan after spring break

Fri 13Mar2020 4:44PM

Hi all

Purdue is going for online class till the end of the semester.  Please following all messages sent from the university closely at

https://www.purdue.edu/newsroom/releases/2020/Q1/need-to-know-info-about-covid-2019.html?_ga=2.200300718.1835645802.1584544703-71946980.1566162266

The following adjustment will be implemented to this course:

1. New lectures will be given in regular time and will be recorded by BoilerCast.  The video will be available at Blackboard-Learn (BBL) within one hour after the lecture is done, i.e. 10:20 am EDT every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The link is:

   https://mycourses.purdue.edu/webapps/osv-kaltura-BBLEARN/jsp/courseGalleryLTI.jsp?url=/hosted/index/course-gallery&course_id=_462552_1&mode=cpview

Please make sure you are able to access to this link. The first time you login, for some reason the BBL stops at the main page. Please click the link a second time to access the video.  In case of technical support, please contact Itap.

2. Till the end of the semester, there will be no iClicker quiz or exercise. However, I will keep the lecture style as is, namely, when there's a iclicker exercise or quiz, I will pause as usual for a certain amount of time for you to work on the exercise. I strongly encourage you to do so although it's totally up to you.

3. Till the end of the semester, the help-center hour will be in the form of email online communication.  Please communicate with the TA via email: fields38@purdue.edu

Please contact me, if there are further questions after consulting the TA.

4. If Purdue decide to resume in-person class, everything will be same as we have been doing so far.  If the decision is to continue online class, we will follow the procedure described in bullet# 1 and 2.

5. All schedule for pre-lecture quiz and homework remain as is. Note, all due dates are in EDT in US.  If you are in a different country, please pay attention to the difference in time zone.  For example, if a pre-lecture quiz is due on Mar 29, 2020, 9:30am, it refers to the US EDT time, while in China, it is Mar 30, 2020, 9:30 pm.

Please let me know if there are questions.
