Description:
PHYS 696 consists of a series of talks focusing on research being conducted by professors in the Department of Physics. These talks serve several purposes. They will broaden your view of physics as you learn in some detail about the many different research areas pursued within the department. They will also give you the opportunity to meet faculty in an informal setting and ask questions of them regarding their own career path, their research program, etc. Finally, these seminars will help you make an informed decision regarding your own field of research.

Students must attend at least 9 of the Monday night seminars. Attendance will be taken. Less than 9 attendances will result in a no-pass, unless excused for an acceptable reason. Cookies will be provided for your enjoyment, but bring your beverage of choice (within reason!).
