HW 10       Wed 16Apr2008 12:29AM On Problem 1, although you are asked to calculate the
antiferromagnetic spin wave dispersion in 1D,
the omega ~ |k| result holds in 3D as well.  The heat capacity will go
like C~ T^3 at low temperatures
in a 3D antiferromagnet.
Updated HW 9      Mon 31Mar2008 8:43PM HW 9 has been updated.  You only need to do the problems from the text, and the other problems will be due in the next HW set.  See the new HW9 which has been uploaded to the course site.
Extra Office Hour March 28 Thu 27Mar2008 11:23AM

Since HW 8 is due Monday, Prof. Carlson will have an extra office hour this week, on Friday, March 28, 1:30-2:30pm.


HW 5   Tue 12Feb2008 1:50PM Please see the new posted version of HW 5.  Only two problems are due this week, and the rest are due next week.
Amended Homework 3   Tue 29Jan2008 10:08PM A new Homework 3 has been uploaded.  You only need to turn in the textbook problems Jan. 30, and the written problem will be due with the following week's homework.
