Earlier grade issues must be resolved by Monday 12/9

If you have any issues with earlier HWK/quiz grades, they must be resolved by Monday 12/9 .. email/talk to instructor/TA or resolve it after final exam on Monday.  


Extra Office Hour by Prof. Chen

Prof. Chen will hold extra office hour Saturday 12/7 afternoon 3-5pm in PHYS 72.  Feel free to stop by if you have any last minute questions.


Reminder/info on Final Exam

1) The final exam is 12/09 Monday 7-9pm in PHYS 112. 

2) Final exam will be comprehensive, and cover the whole course. 

3) If you know how to solve the homework problems and past 2 exam problems, you should be fine

4) The test will have 20 problems, 10 of which are simialar in format as quiz 1-2, and 10 of them will be multiple choice questions testing basic concepts and understanding

5) Since the last part of the course (after Chaps 10 KK ) are cover only in overview [condensed matter, nuclear/particle physics], this part will receive less weight (~1/4 to 1/3) in the exam, and mostly focusing on basic concepts, and similar questions as in the last problem set (HWK13), nonetheless they will be covered.

Quiz 2 is 11/18 Monday during class, will cover that was taught up to the previous Friday lecture, format similar to quiz 1, updated equation sheet will be provided.

No Prof. Chen office hour for this Thursday 09/26

Grader office hour changed to Wed 9:30-10:30am

The previous office hour of Grader (Qi and Qiang) at 10:30am Tuesday is not moved to Wednesdays 9:30-10:30am, location unchanged. 


HWK 2 due date extended to Thursday 9/5 by 5pm

Considering Monday 9/2 was Labor day holiday, we are extending the due date of HWK2 to Thursday 9/5 by 5pm (turn in to PHYS 144 drop box).
