More Practice Exam Mistakes Fixed Mon 28Jul2008 11:18AM

Apparently my attempts to fix the practice exam were not completely successful.

As of noon on Monday, the Practice Exam should be error free.  Changes had to made to problems 8, 9, 20, and 22.

These were mistakes due to putting numbers in a calculator incorrectly.  I want to assure everyone that the questions on the final are being double and triple checked to make sure there are no issues.

Practice Exam Mistakes Fixed Sun 27Jul2008 9:18AM There were a several mistakes on the original posting of the practice exam.  They version posted now should have the fixes.  In case you downloaded the practice final before Sunday morning, the changes were for problems 1, 6, 8, 9, 18, 20, 21, and 25.  A few just had the incorrect answer marked on the answer key, but some need changes to either the question or answers themselves.
Practice Exam Posted Fri 25Jul2008 4:41PM The practice exam has been posted.  It is the Practicefinal folder on the left hand side course website.
Class Cancelled Monday, July 28th and other stuff Thu 24Jul2008 11:24AM

Class is cancelled Monday, July 28th due to the fact I am done covering material. Recitation is cancelled for Monday as well.  Recitation is still on for Tuesday, July 29th.  The due date for HW 27 will be moved to Tuesday.

In lieu of having lecture, I will be in the Help Center from 9 AM - 10:45 AM on Monday to answer questions in a small group setting.  Bring all the practice problems in the world and I will do my best to sort out what I can.

A practice exam will be posted soon. Don't forget to study the quizzes and HW.  Also, a number of exams from years past are under the Practice Exams heading on the left.  The finals and Exam 2's are probably good sources of problems, but keep in mind that your exam only covers from magnetism onward.

Posted Lectures and Notes Tue 08Jul2008 2:58PM I will be posting lectures and handwritten notes online.  It will be updated once or twice a week.  I will also post handwritten notes as well.  It would be wise to check the handwritten notes to make sure it matches your own.  Occasionally something from class may be written down incorrectly.
Exam Average Thu 03Jul2008 12:59PM

The average on the midterm is 124.5 with a standard deviation of 26.  The exam is not curved but it is part of the overall total which is curved.  So, the following list will give you a general idea of where you stand with respect to the rest of the class.

If your score is 150.5-200.0 you are around an A range.

If your score is 124.5-155.4 you are around a B range.

If your score is 98.5-124.4 you are around a C range.

If your score is 0.0-98.4 you are around a D/F range.

Date Error in Syllabus Mon 23Jun2008 6:14PM

The syllabus had 2 dates for the midterm exam.  The midterm exam is in class on Friday, July 3.

Lectures Mon 09Jun2008 3:10PM

I posted the lectures in PDF format.  Sometimes the animations look odd when put in PDF.  If something looks odd it is probably an animated slide and you should consult you text for a clearer explanation.
