Open Positions

We are currently offering Ph.D. positions for research on our current CMS projects. These are in the area of CMS data analysis employing the 13 TeV data as well as instrumentation/software upgrade projects. Please contact us for more information.

Ph.D. research topics

Here is a list of currently offered Ph.D. research projects. For more information on CMS data analysis, instrumentation R&D and potential research stays at CERN (Geneva, Europe) or Fermilab (Batavia, USA) please contact the relevant Professor from the contact list given further below.

In the group of Andreas Jung:

  • Top quark spin correlations
  • Constraining new physics via precision top quark measurements
  • Top Quark Yukawa coupling
  • Silicon pixel detector and mechanical support structure R&D

In the group of Norbert Neumeister:

  • Search for heavy neutral gauge bosons
  • Higgs properties: H → μμ
  • Search for supersymmetric particles in multi-lepton final states
  • Muon reconstruction and High-Level Trigger
