Current Research-Transport in Nanotubes

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are relatively easy to fabricate and they arguably represent the ultimate in 1-D wires for electronic conduction. By selectively doping CNTs, it might be possible to achieve diode and/or transistor action in crossed-CNT configurations. Contact resistance, manipulation of nanotubes, and electro-mechanical properties of CNTs all form the focus of our research effort.
