Scheduling Suggestions:
When scheduling, if you do not know how long your scan will take or aren't familiar with XRM scanning parameters that you will need for a particular sample we recommend first submitting a request for Exploratory Analysis.
From the exploratory analysis, we will provide you with recommendations, scanning resolution, the number of projections, and tomographic recipe options, and the respective scan-times and cost. You may also utilize the Scan-Time Calculator with our recommendations for Exposure Time which are provided based on our experience with a specific material and sample dimensions.
Note: When we move to iLab it will be in your benefit to know the exact scan time you need to reserve.
By submitting a request to use the XRM, both you and your supervisor agree to:
-
Immediately alert Dr. Pyrak-Nolte of any damages to the system.
-
Absorb any cost that may be incurred as a result of your actions during any requested scanning time that has caused any mechanical, optical, and/ electrical issues or malfunctions of any of the equipment or software in the X-ray Microscope Lab.
