Training requirements for future 3D X-Ray Microscope User

1. Complete Forms with Account Number for Training and Scan Time Charges:

3D XRM Rates Form

2. Complete the HazCom Awareness training located at the link below:

Print out the certificate/email of completion and place in G-48, Safety Binder drawer, email to ljpn@purdue.edu or hand-in to Prof. Pyrak-Nolte

3. Complete the REM XRD Training located at the link below:

Print out the certificate/ email of completion and place it in the safety binder in G48, or email to ljpn@Purdue.edu or hand-in to Overview Training Session superuser.

Click on or Scroll down to "X" and Click on the image for the: X-Ray Diffraction and Crystallography
The Form A-4 is not needed

4. Complete one Overview Training Session: (must request access to the course from Prof. Pyrak-Nolte ljpn@purdue.edu)

3D XRM Laboratory Overview Training
Important: All Users must sign the 3D XRM Liability form
*All quizzes MUST be completed. A cumulative grade of 90% or greater is needed to successfully complete the overview training course. Please retake as needed.
The Xradia Versa includes extremely sensitive mechanical, optical, and electronic components. Do not touch anything within the enclosure except for the following components, unless instructed otherwise by ZEISS service personnel:
Sample stage - while loading the sample holder assembly
X-ray source - when installing a source filter

5. Complete 2 Hands-on Training Sessions:

  Location: Physics G48 or Virtual.
**Billed at $41/ per hour of training, recipe building and set-up time, actually scanning hours are billed at Self Scan rate of $30/ per scan hour. 

6. Complete 2 Shadowing Training Sessions:

  Location: Physics G48.
    

7. Submit completed and signed liability form

When making a reservation ALWAYS include in the comments section: your Name, Department, PI's Last Name, and Information about your sample.
If you do not know how much time you need for scanning please arrange to have an exploratory analysis performed. (See Services for more information). 
 

**Currently no external unaffiliated users are allowed to perform self-scanning
