Prof. John Finley named department head

College of Science Dean Jeff Roberts has named Professor John Finley Department Head for Physics and Astronomy. Finley is a professor of physics and astronomy who has been at Purdue University since 1993.  He received his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1990.  His specialty is high energy astrophysics.

Effective August 1, 2015, Finley will replace Professor Andrew Hirsch who has served as interim Department Head since July 1, 2013.
