Demos: 6C-05 Growth & Decay of Current in Inductors

A decade resistance box and a decade inductance box are used to form an RL circuit driven by a square wave generator. Growth and decay patterns are seen on an oscilloscope.

Directions: Follow the directions on the apparatus. The R and L designations are decade boxes so that you can change the patterns.

Suggestions for Presentation: Discuss RL circuits and their similarities to and differences from RC circuits. Especially focus on the growth-decay curves from each to show the phase differences.
