Demos: 2A-14 Ideal Gas Law Apparatus

This apparatus will demonstrate the relationship between pressure, volume and temperature. You can use this device qualitatively or quantitatively. Start by opening the valve and unscrewing the valve in the cylinder to obtain a large volume of air. Close the valve and then screw the valve so the volume of air diminishes. Stop the turning and notice the pressure and temperature readings. Every decrease of 10 ml in volume will provide a noticeable change. When finished, reverse the experiment by increasing the volume.
