Demos: 2A-13 Molecular Motion

This demonstration models the behavior of gas molecules in a closed container. The gas molecules are represented by small steel ball bearings inside a glass container. From the Kinetic Theory of Gases as a gas is heated, random movement of the gas molecules increases. This can be illustrated by increasing the vibrations of the plunger driven by the function generator. Examples of other concepts you can demonstrate would be: transfer of heat to or from a substance, phase change, changes in pressure and changes in altitude of the atmosphere.
