Conference for Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities in Physics (CU*iP)
Purdue P&A will host the midwest region CU*iP conference in January 2025. We will be one of the 14 host sites all across US, which include NYU, University of Colorado, and Fermilab, among others. The conference is sponsored by NSF and DOE through the American Physical Society.
“The goal of APS CUWiP is to help undergraduate women continue in physics by providing them with the opportunity to experience a professional conference, information about graduate school and professions in physics, and access to other women in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice, and ideas. The national and local organizing committees of APS CUWiP strive to create a welcoming environment for all, including undergraduate women and gender minorities.”
Leadership
The faculty chair of the local organizing committee is Ian Arnold (co-chair: K.-Soo Lee).
The LOC includes a large number of undergraduate students, Gender Minorities in Physics (GMiP) group members, several graduate students, and faculty members (Oana Malis, Abi Polin, Alexandria Johnson).
