Bright Supernovae - 2025

This data comes from TNS and ATEL circulars.   An archive of the 2025 updates to this page is available.

This is a partial list of the SN discovered in 2025. Since 2025 is still ongoing, please look at the main page for the latest data.   In previous years I tried to keep the yearly archive alphabetically sorted by TNS supernova name.   Since that is no longer applicable, I am sorting this archive by "first observed" date, which I have listed as the discovery date.   If you are looking for a specific object then you can use the format "<a href=”index.html#2025xx>2025xx</a>" to find a specific object. Note that Extra galactic Novae have been moved to a special Extra galactic novae page.   Mistakes (Galactic variables, asteroids, unconfirmed, etc) are in the boneyard.   I also maintain an archive of the updates.

  • 2025X was removed by TNS and added the the entry for 2022mop, which is at the same coordinates, It has now been classifed as a type IIn.
