Grades

Tue 12May2009 3:54PM

The grade cutoffs are:

A: 779
B: 681
C: 534
D: 418
F: <418 or failing the lab

The grading policy can be found in the course syllabus. Please do not email us about how close you are to a cutoff. By definition, there is always someone that is close.

If your grade is an "I" (incomplete), you need to talk to your advisor on its ramification (please don't email us about it!). To turn an "I" into a letter grade, you will need to:

1) Re-take the exam that you missed when the course is offered and have the instructor send Prof. Cui your score for the exam, as well as the overall average score. We will use this info to figure out a score for this course and use it to derive a final grade for you.

or

2) Re-take the course, if you have missed more than one exam, and have the instructor send Prof. Cui your final grade for the course. This grade will replace your "I" for this course.

In either case, you must communicate with the new instructor about your situation at the beginning of the semester, with a CC to Prof. Cui. If we do not hear from you, nothing will be done for you. Your "I" will automatically turn into an "F" after a period of time.
