X-RAY ASTROPHYSICS

My research field is the X-ray astronomy utilizing observation data sets acquired with X-ray space telescopes. Under the direction of Prof. John P. Finley I have been working on various Galactic X-ray sources such as neutron stars, premain-sequence stars and their diffuse environs with data from space-borne observatories such as ROSAT, RXTE, etc.. My thesis project is the study of the soft X-ray background in the Galactic plane in collaboration with Dr. Steven L. Snowden at NASA/ Goddard Space Flight Center, utilizing ROSAT PSPC observations.
