TEM images of the Ti/Au-nanotube contact interface.
These images show the interface of the Ti/Au contact covered nanotube
to the bare nanotube. The shadow created by the mask is almost
line-of-sight, but there is a small transition region. From these
images, it appears that the nanotube remains undamaged by the
evaporation process. These TEM images show that the nanotube is
contacted along it's length. This "bulk" or "side" contact plays an
important role in determining the conductance of the nanotube.
