Homework

There will be a weekly homework assignment in Mastering Physics. An assignment will have a number of questions where you enter your answers online. The deadline for these Homeworks is 5pm on the Friday due dates

Recitation Quizzes

Recitations will focus on group problem solving. Problems will include estimations, essay questions, and calculation-based problems. Problems not finished during recitation should be completed over the course of the week on your own, at the Help Center, or with others. Each recitation will begin with a 10-minute quiz consisting of a random problem or part of a problem from the previous week, which must be submitted to the TA by email. The lowest grade will be dropped.

Lecture Quizzes

Multiple-choice clicker quizzes will occur on Thursdays during the last 5 minutes of class. Quizzes will focus on the previous week's material (including clicker questions during lecture). The lowest grade will be dropped. During online courses, the lecture quizzes will be posted on Brightspace starting on Thursday after class and will be due the next day at 6pm.

Labs

Because the labs this semester must be handled online, the instructor and TA(s) will perform the lab tasks prior to the lab sessions. There will be a document for each lab which summarizes the data that the instructor and TA(s) collect for each section, along with images showing the setup and procedure. Labs must be submitted by lab groups by two hours after the end of the corresponding time slot.

Exams

There will be two 60-minute midterm exams, and one two-hour final exam during Finals Week.
