PRIME Lab is equipped with a fire control system. The PRIME Lab fire detection system includes an array of smoke and heat detectors. If a fire is detected, an alarm will automatically sound. There are also manual fire alarm switches located near each exit and in several other locations indicated on the PRIME Lab safety map near the center stairway on each floor. A sprinkler system is installed throughout the building, which is activated by heat at each individual sprinkler head. There is also a fire extinguisher located near the exit in each laboratory area. In the event of a fire alarm, occupants should discontinue any work in progress and leave the building in accordance with the Physics building emergency plan. |
