GHS Hazard Statement



A Globally Harmonized System (GHS) Label contains one or more hazard statements.  Manufacturers classify materials into defined hazard classes with pre-determined hazard statements.  Some examples of GHS hazard statements are:
 

Harmful if swallowed
Causes serious eye damage
May cause drowsiness or dizziness
May cause cancer
Extremely flammable liquid and vapor
Catches fire spontaneously if exposed to air
Contains gas under pressure; may explode if heated
