Sensitizer      

Definition:
  A chemical that causes a substantial proportion of exposed people or animals to develop an allergic reaction in normal tissue after repeated exposure to the chemical.
     
Examples:
  nickel, chromium, beryllium, cobalt, chlorinated hydrocarbons, poison ivy
     
Precautions:
  Wear appropriate gloves while handling these chemicals
  If an aerosol or fine dust may be produced, handle the material in a fume hood       or other means of containment.
  PPE as required by hazard certification
     
Possible Health Effects:
  Will have no significant effect until repeated exposure to susceptible individuals
  A person may develop mild to severe allergic reaction to very small amounts       once sensitized
     
First Aid:
  Immediately flush skin or eyes with tepid water for at least 15 minutes
  Treat symptomatically
