Irritant      

Definition:
  A chemical, which is not corrosive, that causes a reversible inflammatory effect on living tissue by chemical action at the site of contact.
     
Examples:
  organic solvents, sodium polytungstate, sodium sulfite and cation/anion exchange beads
     
Precautions:
  Wear appropriate gloves while handling these chemicals
  If an aerosol or fine dust may be produced, handle the material in a fume hood       or other means of containment.
  Store waste in appropriate containers
  PPE as required by hazard certification
     
Possible Health Effects:
  May cause skin and eye irritation
  Ingestion may cause vomiting or diarrhea
     
First Aid:
  Immediately flush skin or eyes with tepid water for at least 15 minutes
