 
Angle of Choke
When a sling is used in a choker configuration,
an adjustment to the load rating of the sling must be made
based on the angle of choke used.
The smaller this angle is, the more the rating of the sling must
be reduced.
The angle of choke is shown in the drawing below. This adjustment only applies to wire rope slings.
The percent of the rated capacity of the sling is shown below for different choke angles.
Note (1): These values are for use in a choker hitch such as shown in the first drawing.
