Non-Hazardous Waste

Non-Hazardous waste that has the appearance of hazardous waste must be disposed of properly.

1.  Empty Chemical Bottles.
  Triple rinse with water
  Apply triple rinsed sticker
  Discard in normal trash
2.  Solid non-hazardous waste
  Waste material must:
be a dry solid
contain no residual flammable or toxic materials
Not be a dust hazard
  Place material in a suitable container
A bottle
A Zip-lock bag
A sealed box
  Write "Non-Hazardous Waste" on the container
  Discard in normal trash
3.  Liquid Non-Hazardous Waste
  Must be completely dissolved in water
  Must be Non-Hazardous Materials.
Listed on the REM Non-Hazardous Materials list.
Indicated on MSDS as Non-Hazardous and safe to dispose of in sewer.
pH must be between pH 5 and pH 9.
  Pour material down drain with copious amounts of water.
