The Crab and Geminga Nebulae

This EGRET image shows the Geminga (above and left of center) and the Crab Nebulas (below and right of center). Both the Geminga and Crab contain pulsars which are seen by EGRET to pulse at gamma ray energies. Geminga is highlyvisible at satellite observable energies but not at ground observable energies. This further exacerbates the need to close the energygap.
