Lenz and Faraday: Exercise 2
2. Construct the circuit in Fig. 2. Be sure the clear face of the
few-turn coil is towards the solid face of the many-turn coil. Place the coils coaxially
as close together as possible.
- (a) Bring the N pole up to the clear face of the many-turn coil.
Note the magnitude and direction of the deflections.
- (b) Reverse the lead wires on the terminals of the few-turn coil.
Again bring the N pole up to the clear face of the many-turn coil. Note the magnitude and
direction of the deflection.
- (c) Compare the two magnitudes in (a) and (b) and
explain the difference.
