The group size fluctuates as the semesters come and go. Typically, we have 2-4 graduate students from physics, 1-2 physics undergraduates, 1 post-doc or visiting scholar, and a wide range of students from other departments who spend time in our lab.

Students who work in our group receive considerable hands on experience. Whenever possible, we like to build equipment rather than buy it. We like to develop and perform innovative experiments rather than cook the same experiment year in and year out. Most students leave the group with considerable experimental skills. We place a strong emphasis on understanding the experimental techniques that we use.
