Assistant Professor Jiangping Hu is a condensed matter theorist with intersts in high temperature superconductors, spintronics, ultracold atomic systems, and the higher dimensional quantum Hall effect. Prof. Hu received his PhD from Stanford University. Prior to coming to Purdue, he was a postdoctoral researcher at UCLA.

Assistant Professor Norbert Neumeister is a high energy particle experimentalist. Prof. Neumeister received his doctorate from Vienna University of Technology, Austria. From 1999-2001, he CERN research fellow, and most recently, was Research Physicist at the Institute for High Energy Physics of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. As a member of the CMS experiment at CERN, his current research interests include event reconstruction and selection, development of object-oriented trigger simulation software, and design and implementation of muon reconstruction algorithms.

Associate Professor Yuli Lyanda-Geller is a condensed matter theorist with interests ranging from mesoscopic physics and interference phenomena to transport and optical phenomena in nanostructures to the physics of quantum information. Prof. Lyanda-Geller received his doctorate from the Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia. Most recently, he was Research Scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC.
