"Plasmon sensors in Biology"
Prof. Joseph Irudayaraj
Agricultural & Biological Engineering
Abstract
The fundamentals of plasmonics and its application in
biosensing will be explored. Nanostructures primarily
comprised of gold nanoparticles and nanorods will be used
for detecting cancer biomarkers and pathogenic bacteria.
Sensor fabrication and testing of its detection limits will
be explored by mathematical modeling quantitatively.
Examples of technology development based on nanoSPR will be
provided.
