PPE-Eye Splash


1. Safety glasses even with side shields provide minimal protection against splashes of hazardous liquids.


2. The eye splash protection listed in the hazard assessment is a suggested level of protection. The individual employee must decide for himself any level of protection from none to more than that specified.


3. If you wear glasses, you should:





4. Most eye injuries result from workers not wearing required eye protection.


5. Protective eyewear should be cleaned periodically with mild soap and water


6. Splash goggles must be used when required by the hazard assessment


7. There should be no gaps between the goggles and the face of the wearer when splash goggles are worn properly.


8. Splash goggles can NOT be worn in place of safety glasses


9. Safety goggles are the best protection from violent eruptions of liquids.


10. Damaged goggles that are not contaminated can be disposed of in the trash
