Secondary Label Information

A Globally Harmonized System (GHS) Label is required for labeling ALL hazardous materials.   The label must be attached directly to the container and must contain all of the required information regardless of the size of the container.  There are some provisions for labeling small containers.

1.  An adhesive label attached to the container in the usual way.   This may not work well for very small containers.
2.  A fold out label may be used.   This permits a label that is much larger than would normally be used on a standard label.
3.  A label may be attached to the container as a tag.   This can be in the form of a adhesive label wrapped around the container and onto itself, or as a string or wire attached tag.
4.  A lookup code type of system is not permitted.
5.  Process sheets may only be used for very large fixed containers (typically industrial in nature).
