GHS Label Information

A Globally Harmonized System (GHS) Label is a worldwide system of labeling for ALL hazardous materials.   Manufacturers will classify materials into defined hazard classes with pre-determined precautionary statements.  This should eliminate the variations in labeling by different companies.   Manufacturers have until June of 2015 to complete the change in labeling.   A GHS Label must contain at least the following items:

1.  The product name
2.  Supplier information including address and phone number
3.  A hazard signal word
4.  One or more pictograms
5.  A Hazard Statement
6.  Precautionary Statements
7.  Supplemental Information (as required)
