Special Hazards

Don't forget that the NFPA hazard scale has a higher hazard as the number gets larger.   The NFPA diamond shaped labels include a fourth hazard class called Special Hazards.
This hazard class is colored WHITE.


  The special hazards section can be empty or have one of the following officially recognized symbols:
OX OXIDIZER
REACTIVE WITH WATER

In addition the following unofficial symbols are sometimes used:
COR CORROSIVE
CORROSIVE
ACID ACID
ALK ALKALI or BASE
BIO BIOLOGICAL HAZARD
BIOLOGICAL HZARD

POISONOUS
