Maintenance of Chemical Storage

Chemicals should not be stored forever and must be periodically checked.

1.  Recycle chemicals that are no longer used in any lab processes.
2.  Make sure stored chemicals are tightly capped.
3.  Repair or replace deteriorating labels.
4.  Dispose of chemicals that are past an expiration date.
5.  Repackage chemicals that have broken lids or cracked bottles.
6.  Keep bottles of chemicals clean.
If there is 1/8 inch of dust on the cap, you probably don't need it anymore.
