Procedure of handing in your copy of HW solution
Thu 10Dec2009 12:11PMThe following is the process on how to hand-in your HW solution as mentioned at the beginning of this semester. I will also make an announcement in the course website:
o if you pass the qualify, please hand in all your copies to me.
o if you did not pass the qualify this time, you can keep it for one more semester. After that, I will send a message to your asking for it.
o Please do not distribute your copies to any other students who are not enrolled in this class. The result of exposing the solution to other students will leads to serious discipline action.
I wish you all good luck in the qualify exam.

Please be very serious about your homework discussion.
Fri 25Sep2009 5:14PMHi all
I just learned that the idea of homework discussion is not well carried on. Some of you have the discussion on Wednesday and some of you never attend the discussion.
A thorough homework discussion among yourselves is as important as the lecture because you can learn from each other and gain better understanding of the principle. We do not have enough time to discuss all the homework problems during lecture time and the homework discussion will also help you pick up those you don't really understand so that we can discuss it on Tuesday. If the discussion happen on Wednesday, it defeat the whole idea.
Please be very serious about it!

Tue 08Sep2009 12:31PMHi all
One of you left a rain coat or umbrella in room 101 after today's class. I send it the the office of the missing items in the first floor of physics building, please go there to pick it up.
For the students who missed the class, unless it's due to a valid reason, your absence will be included when counting the total points at the end of semester as stated in the syllabus.
If you have to miss the class due to a valid reason, please send me an e-mail before the class. If you are ill, please bring me a doctor's diagnosis from PUSH when you show-up. If the doctor do not recommend you come to the class, please do so and let me know.
