Graduated from Burnoe (high) School, Kazakhstan, former USSR and
was awarded the Silver Medal, for excellence in studies. Was awarded a M.Sc. degree
from Tashkent State University, continued
doctorate graduate studies in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna, USSR
and obtained the Ph.D. degree in physics and mathematics and Doctor of Science
(Doctor of Habilitation) in physics and mathematics from Joint Institute for
Nuclear Research. The
Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna) has been the leading center of nuclear and particle physics, an East-European counterpart of CERN.
In 1982 became Professor at Tashkent State University.
Presently employed at the Physics
Department of Purdue University. In 1996, was granted permanent residency (U.S.)
as an
outstanding professor or researcher and became a US citizen in 2001. In February 2001 was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and was granted the title of Chartered Physicist. Published a research monograph on the Schwinger
variational principle "The Schwinger Variational Principle in Quantum Mechanics".
Also published more than 100
research articles individually and in collaboration with other scientists, which
includes
publications in international journals: Phys. Rev. A,C; Phys. Lett. A,B;
J. Phys. A,B,G; Z. fur Phys. A; Nucl.
Phys A,B;
Int. J. of Theoretical Physics etc.
These research papers were used extensively by other scientists. As an indicator for
the relevance of these research works one could quote the following number (150) from
the Science Citation Index.
