Electronics Resources

Electronics for the TOF detector was designed and built while I was at the University of Pennsylvania. Components of the clock distribution system have been built at Purdue.

Photon Transport Monte Carlo Studies

We have developed a Monte Carlo model that simulations the propagation of photons through the TOF detector and the response of the electronics. This has been used to study possible sources of bias observed in some classes of measurements.

TOF Alignment

We are determining new alignment constants for the TOF scintillator and find that deviations from the previously determined positions can be significant. This picture shows the difference between the new (blue/yellow) and the previously assumed (red) position of the scintillator. Radial shifts of order 1 cm are expected to have singificant implications for calibration and reconstruction.

Aging of the TOF system

The performance of the TOF system appears to be degrading with time. We are in the process of analysing the contributing factors and proposing various options for dealing with these issues.
