2006: Recipient of $10,000 seed grant from Discovery Learning Center, Purdue University for study of "The Impact of Performing Arts on Science Learning"

2004: Recipient of Leading Light Women & Hi Tech Award as Outstanding Science, Technology, or Engineering Educator in the State of Indiana.

2001: Recipient of American Councils for International Education (ACTR/ACCELS): Teacher Excellence Award (TEA). Traveled to South Carolina for International Conference and traveled to Cheboksary, Russia for 3 weeks as American ambassador

2001: Recipient of grant from DNR for habitat improvement


1997: Recipient of Salute to Women award given in education division

1995: Recipient of 4 grants, totaling $8000 for use in Teens Learning to Care (TLC) program at ATLAS School. The source of these include The Indiana Youth Institute, Gannett Publishers, Greater Lafayette Foundation, and United Way of Greater Lafayette

1994: Nominated for Golden Apple Award in Tippecanoe County, 1st runner up

1993: Recipient of Anne DeCamp award in Tippecanoe County for creative teaching using project, Problem-Solving Using Lego Models

1990: Wrote a grant for 3 teachers to receive funding from Tippecanoe Co. Seeds of Excellence program to be used for Engineering via Lego TC Logo

1990: Recipient of Eli Lilly Endowment for Creative Teaching to develop project, Engineering via Lego TC Logo. Wrote grant that allowed 4 teachers to receive a total of $18,000
