January 20, 1996

Women in Physics met for dinner at the home of Julie Peterson. We had quite a good number of people show up and several stayed late for movies. Thank you all for joining us, it was a pleasure to get to know you better!

March 14, 1996

Upcoming meetings were discussed.

    A panel discussion on "Sexual Harassment in the Electronic Age" will be presented in Room 212 of the Stewart Center on March 21. The discussion will cover how sexual harassment is defined in an electronic context, how to avoid being harassed on the computer, where to go on campus for assistance if you are harassed, and existing policies at Purdue to more effectively address electronic harassment. It would be great if someone could attend this discussion and talk about it at the next meeting.

    Dr. Shirley M. Malcom will present a seminar on "Women in Science and Engineering Making Their Way and Making a Diffference" on March 18.

    Dan MacIsaac will be our guest speaker at our next regular meeting.

Attendence = 8

After our agenda was completed we concluded with strawberries, cookies, and discussion.

Natasha Bralts took the minutes.

March 16, 1996

Women in Physics had an informal dinner at Julie Peterson's house. This was "International Dinner Night," a potluck dinner of foods from other countries. We had plenty of food and a warm fireplace.

Food that we enjoyed: Melissa Dancy brought a Chicken Cous Cous dish
Amanda Coleman brought a Greek Salad
Jim White provided his homemade bananna bread
Kathleen Falconer brought French Onion Soup
Julie Peterson made Thai spicy peanut noodles with red bell pepper
and Ellen Wrin brought a dessert.

March 29, 1996

Women in Physics had lunch with Dr. Pfannkuche, who presented the Friday Physics seminar entitled "Transport through Coupled Quantum Dots."
