What Activities Does Women in Physics Perform?
Women in Physics is involved in a variety of activities throughout the year. Each activity has its own distinct goal, but they all serve to benefit the community in some fashion. They include ScienceScape, an HTML Workshop, the Holiday Drive for the Needy, Imagination Station, Expanding Your Horizons, and the traveling Physics FunFests.Information on WiP's Activities
ScienceScape
ScienceScape is held each year during the summer at Purdue University. The program is open to girls ages 11 through 14. The camp teaches some of the basic fundamentals of physics, and it gives the girls women in physics role models, making physics more accessible.For more information, go to the ScienceScape page.
HTML Workshop
Women in Physics holds an HTML Workshop during the Fall Semester each year, generally sometime in Ocotober. The goal of the workshop is to teach anyone who is interested how to create their own personal home page on the World Wide Web. HTML, which stands for HyperText Mark-up Language, is the script that creates the Web pages. Instructors teach the beginnings of creating pages with HTML.Information about HTML, along with some neat graphics, are available on WiP's HTML Resource Page.
Holiday Drive
Each year during the holiday season in December, Women in Physics holds a drive. People are encouraged to donate items such as canned foods or school supplies. The donations are given to the Lafayette Women's Shelter. Boxes are placed around Purdue campus, with signs requesting people's assistance.Imagination Station
Women in Physics plans on volunteering at Imagination Station. The Station is an interactive museum of science with the goal of getting children more interested science. For more information, visit the Imagination Station Web page.
Expanding Your Horizons
Women in Physics helps Iota Sigma Pi, the National Chemical Honor Society for Women, with Expanding Your Horizons. The goal of the program is to further the interest of children in science and mathematics.

Physics FunFests
Physics FunFests travels to local area schools and provides examples of physics in action. Physics is promoted and portrayed as an exciting and approachable field.For more information on WiP's Physics FunFests, click here.
