Overview
BTeV is an approved Fermilab B physics experiment that is designed to run in the Tevatron Collider. The physics goals include the following:
- precision studies of CP violation and mixing in B decays
- search for CP violation and mixing in charm decays
- studies of rare B decays and rare charm decays
- high sensitivity search for decays forbidden within the Standard Model
The vertex trigger is the primary physics trigger for BTeV. The first stage of the trigger, Level 1, reconstructs tracks and primary vertices to select events with detached beauty or charm vertices.
