Color of light can be changed via nonlinear optics. A commonly used process is the harmonic generation. However, it usually requires high intensity in order to achieve good conversion efficiency. In this presentation, I will discuss a technique by which we can change the color of light even with very low intensity, down to single-photon level. The color change can be up-conversion or down-conversion. It will have wide applications in quantum information.
