Martin Kochanczyk (Fall 2003): Jet Kinematics of the Quasar OQ 208

The quasar OQ 208 is a very young active galaxy with an exceedingly powerful
jetted outflow. Using data from radio telescopes around the world, 
we are locating the center of activity  where the
jet originates in the vicinity of a supermassive black hole. 
The data consist of a series of high angular resolution images, taken
over several years, in which motions of individual features in the
jets can be back traced to reveal the jet origin.
