Chemical Storage

All chemicals must be stored in an appropriate manner.

1.  Ensure all containers are in good condition and properly labeled.
2.  Separate chemicals into hazard classes
3.  Keep bottles of chemicals in storage tightly capped.
4.  Use only approved refrigerators for chemical storage.
5.  Do not mix food storage and chemical storage in the same refrigerator or cabinet.
6.  Flammable liquids stored in glass containers shall not exceed 1 quart (liter).
Exception: For conditions where chemical purity must be protected, flammable liquids stored in glass containers shall not exceed 1 gallon (4 liters).
7.  Dispose of old chemicals promptly.
8.  Do not store liquids above eye level.
9.  Use approved storage cabinets, containers, and safety cans for flammable liquids.
