A depth profile ofcosmogenic neutron-capture-produced 36Cl was measured in quartz extracted from a siliceous dolomite ejecta boulder drill core at Meteor Crater, AZ. The results show a maximum in production below the top surface of the boulder and are consistent with the depth dependence of production predicted by Monte Carlo calculations. A model is presented here that uses the special features of the profile to determine both the exposure age and steady-state erosion rate of a geomorphic surface.
