Graduate Student Seminar Series
The Grad Seminar is managed by a subcommittee of the Physics Graduate Student Association (PGSA).
The goals of the Grad Seminar are:
(1) To provide an opportunity for Physics graduate students to present their research in a
colloquium-style forum, and
(2) To inform others of the research recently conducted by graduate students in the Physics
Department.
The Seminar
Each seminar is one-hour in length (50 minutes talk + 10 minutes Q&A) and attendance is open to
all. Each seminar is designed so that any Physics graduate student can understand most of the
talk (for example, at least 75 % of the talk should be accessible to first-year graduate students).
The Speaker
Speakers for the Grad Seminar are chosen through an abstract submission and review process. Any
Physics graduate student that has worked for at least one year on a research project should consider
submitting an abstract. Please follow the link below for more information regarding the abstract and to
submit an abstract.
