Jason Cartwright
Jason Cartwright, a 1st year physics graduate student, was found on Nov. 7 to have passed
away of a congenital heart failure in his sleep. He is survived by his parents, Anna and
Dawson Beck, of Columbia, S.C.

Professor Gabriele Giuliani
Professor Gabriele Giuliani passed away on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 22, after a long and
very courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Pamela and children Daniela,
Adriana, and Giuseppe, who were at home with him.
