STEAM team warns of major phishing attack

Many Purdue users have received mail over the past several days with the subject line: "{Suspension Of Your purdue.edu Account}" that appear at first glance to come from an ITaP source. These are "phishing" attack email messages that are attempting to collect Purdue usernames and passwords.

This email is a phishing attempt to obtain your person information and the link(s) provided SHOULD NOT be visited. In the event that you already done so, it is highly advised that you change your Purdue career account password, password challenge questions, and perform malware scans on any of your personal computers used to access the link(s).

Please note that Purdue will never ask for personal information via email. Any mail message asking for users to "confirm" a username and password is expressly against Purdue policy and should be ignored.
