Field-emission spectrum of a nanometer-size supported gold cluster: theory

The electron-energy spectrum of a single 1-nm-diam Au cluster supported on a
W substrate has been studied by measuring the distribution of electrons field
emitted from the cluster. A resonance-tunneling theory is described that
reproduces the salient features of the experimental spectrum and relates it
to the electronic structure of the supported cluster. (20 References).
